FAQs & BEFORE YOU BOOK
Planning a tattoo with Tom ‘No Morals’ Johnson? Here is what to expect, from your first enquiry to your appointment at NMT in Letchworth.
BOOKING & PRICES
How do I book or get a quote?
Send an enquiry through Get Ink with your tattoo idea, approximate size, placement and reference images. Include whether you would like colour or black and grey, your budget and the days you can attend. I aim to reply within 72 hours.
How much will my tattoo cost?
My full-day rate is £500, with sessions usually running from 10am to 4pm. Smaller pieces are quoted individually depending on size, placement and detail. Larger projects may need more than one session; I will discuss the likely approach with you before booking.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes. A deposit secures your appointment and is deducted from the agreed tattoo price. Your deposit amount and booking terms will be confirmed before you pay. Please read those terms before securing your date.
Do you take card?
Yes, I accept debit and credit cards, except American Express.
Can I cancel or change my appointment?
I require at least 7 days' notice if you need to cancel or change your appointment. Any cancellation will result in the loss of your deposit. Appointments can be changed once using your original deposit. If you need to reschedule again after that, a new deposit will be required to secure another appointment. If you cannot attend, please contact me as soon as possible on 07495 013 832.
What if I'm late for my appointment?
If you are more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may need to be rearranged and this will result in the loss of your deposit. If you are running late, please call the studio on 07495 013 832.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes. Gift vouchers are available in any amount and can be bought through the website, in person at the studio, or by post. All gift vouchers are non-refundable and non-transferable, without exception, and must be presented at your appointment to be used.
YOUR DESIGN
What styles do you tattoo?
I am best known for colour realism, portraits and pop culture tattoos. I also enjoy pet portraits, wildlife, anime, Disney and cartoons, sticker designs and smaller colour pieces. Browse the galleries for examples, or send your idea if you are unsure whether it is suitable.
Can you help if my idea is not fully worked out?
Yes. I am a custom tattoo artist and design each piece for the client. I am happy to use your reference images as inspiration, but I will always aim to create a custom design for you.
When will I see my design?
Your design will be sent to you no later than two days before your appointment, giving you time to review it and request any minor changes. Please mention important details and any changes to the brief as early as possible, before the design is created. If a design needs to be drastically changed, or is repeatedly changed from the original brief, this may result in a change of price or appointment and the loss of your deposit, due to the time spent on the design.
Do you do cover-ups?
Yes, I do take on cover-ups. Please send a clear, recent photograph of the existing tattoo, along with the placement and approximate size. I will assess whether your idea is suitable and discuss the options before confirming a booking.
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
How old do I need to be, and what ID should I bring?
You must be 18 or over. In the UK it is illegal for anyone under 18 to get a tattoo, even with parental consent. Please bring a valid passport or driving licence to your appointment.
Can I use numbing cream?
Unfortunately, I don't allow numbing cream. It has a high reaction rate and changes the skin, making the area much harder to tattoo, and it can affect healing, colours and the overall result. If you arrive with numbing cream applied, your appointment may need to be rescheduled and you may lose your deposit.
How should I prepare?
Get a good night's sleep, eat before your appointment and bring drinks and snacks for a longer session. Please don't shave the area you're getting tattooed. Wear comfortable clothing that gives access to the area and that you do not mind getting ink on. Allow enough time for travel and parking.
What if I have a medical condition, allergy or take medication?
Tell me when you enquire and complete the relevant information on your consultation and consent forms. We may need further information before confirming your appointment. Do not change prescribed medication for a tattoo without advice from your prescriber.
Can I bring someone with me?
Unfortunately, due to the size of the studio, we're unable to have anyone come with you to your appointment. If you have any access requirements or preferences for your session, please let me know in advance and I'll do my best to help.
What happens if I feel unwell?
Contact me before travelling to the studio so we can discuss your appointment. Please do not arrive without letting me know.
THE STUDIO & AFTER YOUR TATTOO
Where are you based?
I work at NMT, 54 Leys Avenue, Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire, SG6 3EQ. Hillshott car park (SG6 1RY) is an option for longer visits, and Letchworth Garden City station is a short walk away. Check the location in your appointment confirmation before travelling.
Will I receive aftercare instructions?
Yes. I will explain how to care for your tattoo and provide aftercare instructions. If you have questions afterwards, contact me rather than guessing or following conflicting advice.
